About Us

This blog is written by a couple of pissed-off patriots who share a fierce dedication to the Constitution - the only words ever put to paper worth dying for. We exist to remind y'all that America was founded on four boxes:
  • The Soapbox
  • The Ballot Box
  • The Jury Box
  • The Ammo Box
They should be used in that order. This is our soapbox.

Sebelius Prods Senate to Move on Surgeon General Nominee

Gotta admit, I'd kinda dropped the ball on this one...  I actually thought it was a done deal weeks ago.  It is fricking unbelievable that they're still playing their stupid obstructionist games on this.  No... wait... it's not unbelievable at all.  My apologies... I forgot who I was talking about there for a moment.

A GOP stall on all Health and Human Services nominees has left the department without a surgeon general during a period of a global flu pandemic, prompting the HHS secretary to call for Senate action.

I'd hope to fricking shout there needs to be a call for Senate action.  Why the flying F**k do they HAVE a stall on all HHS nominees?  What the god damned hell do they hope to gain by THIS particular brick in their fricking wall of obstructionism?  Not satisfied with killing 122 Americans a day?  Feel the need to up that ante?  Well... do ya... punks?  (OK, bad Clint Eastwood impression... I'm too pissed off to come up with anything else right now and it's important that we understand... these guys are punks.)

Regina Benjamin, the surgeon general nominee, "is ready to be voted on in the Senate, and we would just strongly urge the United States Senate" to act, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said during an MSNBC interview Friday in which she discussed the department's response to the spread of the H1N1 virus.

Benjamin was unanimously approved by the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee on Oct. 7, but Senate Republicans are holding up all HHS nominees over a so-called gag order on insurance companies that have been critical of Democratic efforts to reform health care.

I should have fricking known.  Just follow the fricking money from the insurance companies again.  Hell I did know.  Just didn't want to admit that even the Republicans had stopped scraping around on the bottom of the barrel for issues to obstruct and were now tunneling around underneath it.  Bunch of punks.

"We've not received any recent calls from the administration about their nominee," a senior Republican aide said. "There won't be any time agreements for confirmation of HHS nominees until their actions have been fully reviewed."

So why should the administration have to call you and kiss YOUR ass?  They've presented the nominee and obviously even you couldn't find enough wrong about her to legitimately block her... and this is what you fricking resort to, eh?  Punks.

And by the way ... Hey!  Senior Republican Insurance Company Owned Asswipe... nobody died and appointed your fat ass to decide what the rest of us do or don't need and I sure as hell didn't see the name "Senior Republican Aide" on my fricking ballot last year.  Just who the hell ARE you anyway?  Besides just another fricking Wall Street whore for the insurance companies, that is.

At issue is an investigation of insurance companies by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, a division of the HHS, which announced the probe last month after a letter surfaced from Humana to seniors critical of the Senate Finance Committee's health care bill.

Well that's certainly an obvious ploy given that many of our Senate Republicans earn most of their side money by giving blowjobs to the big insurance companies and not too damned many of them are bigger than (In)Humana.  And this appears to be a major blowjob, even for them.  But WTF does it have to do with hobbling HHS during a time of emergency?

CMS officials charged that the letter contained misleading information, a claim Republicans have disputed.

"We believe this hold is irresponsible," a HELP Committee aide said. "Everyone agrees Regina Benjamin is abundantly qualified and clearly needed to fill this position."

Benjamin is the only HHS nominee on the executive calendar awaiting Senate confirmation.

Hell, I'm not even going to go into the fact that the nominee is a woman... and an African/American woman at that... and that in my opinion this bears QUITE heavily on these bigots and their actions also... at least not in this thread.

Way to go Republicans.  Those of you who have any sense left whatsoever... just keep letting fricking McConnell and his band of thugs destroy what's left of your party.  Classy right to the bitter and fast becoming inevitable end, that's you guys.  maybe once you've finally imploded, we can get back to the concept that the last thirty years has seen bullet riddled and buried under the fricking Capitol... government by the people FOR the people.

Did I mention that you're all punks?
